Sunday, June 6th was the big day!
Six months of planning, 3 hours of treasure-map making, 1 hour of frosting preparation, and 3 hours of set-up......and it was time to party!
The first stop at Ty's 2nd Birthday Party was...
The kids all sat very nicely and awaited the official start of the party.
Emily (Austin the kangaroo), Mikaela (Tasha the hippo), Morgan (Uniqua the.....?), Anna (Tyrone the moose), and Emma (Pablo the penguin) performed the Backyardigans Theme Song wonderfully to kick off the party! (Thanks to Hannah for choreographing!)
Mikaela, Anna, and Emma also performed the PU Swamp, also choreographed by Hannah!
Emily and Morgan performed A Pirate Says Argh, choreographed by Steph! (Thanks Steph!)
After the dancing and some quick instructions, I presented the kids with their personalized mini totes that contained character stickers...
...a mask...
...and a treasure map!
First stop (for some...there were three different maps!) was FLOWER FIELD!
Many of the younger kids were enthralled with the spinning flower pinwheels (and were very excited to take one home at the end of the party!)
The older kids enjoyed blowing their station "treasure"...
...and everyone enjoyed posing with the Backyardigans balloons!
The next stop was...

There was also a "Pin the Bow on Pablo" game, which was TIED by a brother and sister, who received a Backyardigans Party Package. Everyone got a Backyardigans whistle and zipper pull for participating.
From Guess Galley, the kids traveled to...
Where they grooved to Backyardigans songs while humming on their kazoos and...well...jumping!
Onward to...
At Leapin' Lookout, the kids weilded butterfly nets to "catch" the leapin' lizards that lept out from behind the box-rocks...thanks to Tim!
Time for a snack at...
What could be more fun then decorating your own cupcakes?!?!
It's always good to relax after a snack...what better place then...
After coloring in their Backyardigans coloring packets...
...the crayons went into the Backyardigans tote and the mothers were handed the coloring packets so the rest of the treasure map could be completed!
After sitting in the hot sun at Color Corner, the kids needed to cool off at...
Kids and balls just go together, so why not add another one to the collection?
Since water was already in the mix, why not spend some time at...
(Jordan & Paul rigged up a hose nozzel to spray down into a wading pool for me...thanks!)
The kids learned a tidbit about waterfalls and about Hawaiian leis, as they picked their favorite color lei at the waterfall!
For the kiddos who were super-fast finishing (or just plain not interested) there were toys to play with...but nothing was as popular as Ty's present from his Grandpa & Grandma, Uncle Nicky & Auntie A! (Thanks!)
The last stop on the treasure map was at...
Nothing says "party" like a pinata!
(Only a plastic bat and a wooden curtain rod broke trying to bust it open...but thankfully Jordan, the ACTUAL birthday boy, busted it open for the kids!)
When the festivities were done, the kids had fun examining their new treasures!
Ty had a fun time! Thanks to everyone who helped....

What a party - Heather you outdid yourself on this party.....It will be fun to see the theme of the next party and how you put it together.....
Nice work on the party and the birthday kid had a good time (well, both of them)
