Christmas Day
Isn't my tree lovely? Despite daily watering, I just couldn't keep it living! This is the state of my tree on Christmas morning before I went to work...yikes!
Ty spent Christmas Day with his dad's family. I spent the day working a ten hour shift at work. After work I sat in the hot tub watched a pretty fantastic sunset while the dogs ate and played outside for awhile.
Ty was dropped off at home and we got our Christmas gifts unpacked and played until bedtime.
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve started off just like every other year, with Christmas Eve service at church. Ty and I opted for some dressy attire and joined the family for the annual service. Ty even sat with the kids during the children's message very nicely. After church we headed over to Dad & Mom's for dinner and gifts.
It was a strange Christmas Eve for me this year. I was missing my "normal." It was not only the first Christmas Eve that I spent without not only one, but both of my brothers, but also the first Christmas Eve I can remember without my cousin, Jordan, there as well. Since Stephy came into Matt's world, she had never missed a Christmas either. It was strange without them all there and I missed everyone.
After we ate and clean up had commenced, Ty got a special visitor...Santa!
Ty gave Santa a big hug and hopped right up on his lap for a quick chat before gift-opening.
Ty had a great time opening his gifts from everyone! His clothes were covered in stickers, he sported his new hat proudly, and the discovery of the Rock Em Sock Em Robots he picked out of the Fleet Farm Toyland Catalog was quite exciting for him! Of course, as soon as the robots were attached to the boxing ring, he decided that was no good so off they came!
Ty and I are very thankful for our Christmas gifts and we love them all! Thanks everyone!
Christmas Numero Quatro: Ty
The morning of Christmas Eve, Ty and I celebrated on our own. We read a few Christmas stories and Ty opened his presents from me.
He got what he asked for from me, zhu zhu pets. He wasn't expecting the zhu zhu airport or police station, but he thought they were pretty cool regardless.
He also got a remote controlled moon that runs through the cycles of the moon. He decided it was "awesome!"
We busted out a variety of baked goodies, which we packaged up and delivered to friends and family later that evening.
Santa made a stop during naptime!
Ty asked Santa for a truck, and told many people that "Santa is bringing a truck for my sock!" Sure enough, he was right!
After raiding our stockings, we got ready for church and Christmas Eve!
